Now that the news of my storefront opening is out, I think it’s time I explain my start!
I’ve owned a salon and been on my own for 8 years—running Lash Vandal and Hair and Lashes By Kaedi (now Niche Beauty). I’ve been hairstyling and weddings for 12 years. This isn’t new… it’s just a bigger dream accomplished.
But it didn’t start here.
I started working at a lash salon where paychecks bounced, there was rampant tax fraud, and I knew I couldn’t stay. I went out on my own, renting a single room from a salon. I worked hard—completely filled my books—and had to hire another artist to keep up. From there, I opened my own salon in a commercial office building. I poured my heart into building that space, running my business with multiple employees.
When my health forced me to step back, I pivoted. I rented out every square inch of that space to other beauty businesses and kept going. I expanded, opening a second location in the same building, adding even more space and additional renters.
And now… here we are. Opening my very own storefront with my best friend. A space we will build with intention.

I almost posted this so many times already. Here it goes…
I learned so much about resilience in the last few years. How to make the best out of a shit situation. I gave so much of myself, too much, to my business and clients. I killed myself quite literally to keep their appointments while I was silently battling. I have a different healthier view of life after cancer. Clients come and go. You’re replaceable at the end of the day. You can quit, get sick, d$e, whatever. They will find a new artist. That employee will leave and screw you, if it means it works better for them. Business is business and no one owes you anything. And that goes both ways. I sound cynical now, but really I just have clarity!
