Gewoon een reiziger met een rolkoffer. Yep. Maar laat mij deze reis en de inhoud van deze koffer even uitlichten voor wie nieuwsgierig is. Dat ik hier sta met deze rolkoffer, op weg naar deze geplande bestemming, is het resultaat van maanden werk en jaren dromen.
In 2013 studeerde ik af aan de kunstacademie te Rotterdam (Advertising) met een onpopulair “SUCCES IS BRANDLESS” manifest. Een pleidooi over hoe gedachtegoed het meest waardevolle bezit is dat een mens kan bezitten.
(Dit in tegenstelling tot lifestylespullen die merkafhankelijkheid verpakken als middel voor zelfexpressie.)
Na jarenlang onderzoek naar materialen, het maken van prototypes en dromen over hoe ik dit verhaal handen en voeten kon geven, was het inzicht daar: ik ga het gedachtegoed van heldere denkers materialiseren. Dat verdient een fysieke plek in ons leven. Dat kun je vasthouden en omarmen. Dat is een baken in roerige tijden. Dat is het echte goud.
Maar welke woorden zijn het waard om te vereeuwigen in een monument? Welke schrijver heeft zijn strepen verdiend en welke grootse artiest ziet het zitten om met zo’n gewone reiziger met een rolkoffer samen te werken?
Een artiest die ik al jaren hoog heb zitten en wiens werk ik als klein jongetje leerde kennen op een reis naar de grote stad, is Laser3.14. Rebels, poëtisch, raak. Woorden zonder stof en met ballen. Eigenlijk precies goed om te materialiseren in stevig staal.

Eddy plu and I made this Lego character that post.nl lost. Post.nl said it got lost in their depot. It pops up on marktplaats after 2 years. The guy refuses to solve it.
A while ago, @jesse_burgerr and @jipdehaan approached me to create shirts for them. They told me about their plans, and I thought it was a cool idea. They put in a lot of work to find the perfect shirt and, in my eyes, created a very beautiful, high-quality piece
