3 months, 3 countries, family reunions, ride-or-die friends, my partner in crime, and a lifetime of memories. Summer, thank you. Grateful for this new video format allowing me to zero in on how I felt at different points in time. I hope you feel them too and enjoy watching these moments as much as I did living them. 💜

We always say the Program is bigger than us. And for this edition, the idea of dancing again felt like my mission. For Shay’s birthday. For my soul. For the community. I wanted to show my vulnerability, step away from work. I knew a callout would be unexpected and impactful. Choosing who to battle was easy.
@lucianohiwat010 , who helped organize the event again, has always been down to exchange. Since the beginning of my freestyle career, I’ve seen his insane drive, worldwide-recognized talent, and most of all humble spirit at so many events for over 15 years. We also danced in the same freestyle crew, Ayelite, led by Shay. We even made the semi finals at Juste Debout Amsterdam in 2016 with Leslie & Jeems.
When I told him my plan, he was instantly on board. At that point, it was out there, no way back. I just called out Netherland’s finest, or actually- World’s finest freestyler (not even in his final form), who represents @pigeonscrew & @thekulturekids . Luckily he’s fam, and this is a call out of love! As an organizer, I’m lucky to know who I can count on. @therealkingofdreamz , he hyped me up and even helped me find the right words. I chose the ‘Vossi Bop’ remix. It’s hyped, but also special, since it was mine and Shay’s first breakthrough project together. It reflected our connection and so well flowing workflow. This moment filled my soul and reminded me of why I fell in love with dance in the first place. Having people like @rocheapinsa , @ruben_chi , @jeremyorigins , @hmlss__ @_robinbenjamin @creepashu , @rowleysilverr in the room brought me way back. You might not see me in the spotlight often, but for the right people, at the right time, I’ll always make an exception. This birthday gift ended up being a mirror for myself.
And I know Shay wouldn’t have wanted anything else. This one is for me, For Shay, For my Dad, For @theneilsson , @thelaundrykid , @lesliedekoning , @dante_fedee , For my Program team, For my silent and loud supporters like @leonarda_lovrekovic . For my Bali fam. For everyone who supports me and loves to see me dance.

2024, thank you for humbling, growing and trusting me. Learning everyday, appreciating every day, trying to only show love and care everyday.
