Calvin Harris was, and will always be, a brilliant artist and a wonderfully charming fella. We’ve had some lovely chats over the years… especially during those early days when he admitted to being too nervous to create music in front of others. He’s clearly grown out of that!

This was about 3 months before “Just Dance” became a hit. I wasn’t even sent a copy of the single. I had to fish it out of a programmers trash bin to play on the air. The same programmer who refused to meet her during that visit… who then tried to take credit for breaking her.

2025 has been a brilliant year for new music. Whittling down to a top-8 was nearly impossible, but I got it done. The mandate was simple: These are songs that I never stopped listening to upon release... and they are songs that got enormously positive feedback from the folks who are kind enough to follow my #NewMusicMoves playlist.
And then there is a separate playlist of the top-8 singles released by the VERO Music label, for which I do A&R and marketing. We had an awesome year!

Madonna-rama! 33 yrs ago, #onthisdayinpop in 1992, #Madonna released #DeeperAndDeeper in the UK - a ferocious dance-pop groove that remains one of her finest. The swirling synth beats, on-trend Philly rhythms and castanets made this pure smut-glam decadence (and, thanks to the allusions that it was about a young boy coming to terms with his homosexuality, I was relating to the lyrics and loving it). AND! Larry Flick got all up close and personal with Lady M w/ this great interview in #Billboard magazine! Chatty!!
