What you taste: gardenia, tuberose, white peach and apricot
What you get: crisp, acidic, fresh and clean notes from start to finish
Everything you know and love from one of our most popular varietals. Come enjoy a glass or two with us here in Los Olivos!
Even our slithering #friends are welcome at a @ccoforganic farmed vineyard to help control rodents. This gophersnake seems to have enjoyed a meal or two out here among the vines. Coupled with #barnowl boxes peppered throughout the property hopefully we can keep the varmints in check. Gopher control is always a bit ironic for the Larner Family since one of the founders was the #cinematographer on #caddyshack the movie. Always thinking of you Stevan Larner, DP. @ballardcanyon@santabarbarawinecountry #freezegopher
Last couple of days have had #gorgeous clouds and #sunlight. Vines are indulging in the mild warmth and the sky’s putting on quite the #kaleidoscope of a show. Flowering not too far off, it’s all about good canopy growth and shoot thinning (the process of removing excess vegetative shoots to open up the canopy for more airflow and less sun blocking of grapes). @ballardcanyon@santabarbarawinecountry@ccoforganic #nofilter
Golden hour, watching over the sunrise in our #grenache block named #vetouxridge, the sheep are in their last week of their #annual visit. Budbreak has stared in the upper elevation blocks, so our focus is preserving all the green growing tissue. @ccoforganic@santabarbarawinecountry@ballardcanyon
Reincorporating the #native cover crop into our La Colline block of #viognier is on fire. The small gravel sized pieces of #chert scattered throughout this block light up when the rototiller hits them, sparks fly as we build #soil nutrition. @ballardcanyon@sbwinecountry #nowmysoilisonfire @ccoforganic
Part of being an organic estate is achieving soil fertility through tilling all the wonderful green cover crop gifted to us by winter's rainfall back into the ground to build soil health. Our sheep will play the role of sweeper and munch all the vegetation our tractors can't get. @sbwinecountry@ccoforganic #certified #regenerative
Let’s hear it for our favorite birthday boy! 🎉
Michael, you’re always holding it down for your team at Larner and Los Olivos General Store, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do each and every day. We couldn’t do it without you. Sending you all the hugs, kisses and birthday wishes for your next trip around the sun!
The rarity of a black sheep is real — often considered a stand out, we see it as essential individuality and the tiny hero of our new crew. More than 100 sheep (and two trusty guard dogs) returned to the estate this week, marking the third year of gracing Larner vineyard with these animals’ ability to naturally weed and maintain overall soil health. Plus, it’s such a joy to be greeted by these faces each and every day!
Our cutest natural lawnmowers and fertilizers started in our Paloma Syrah block, which is the first time we’ve grazed this block. These cuties will munch throughout the vineyard all the way to bud break in late March, while we continue to feel the sense of pride in the organic cap we all wear here at Larner.
What more can we say about our 2024 Rosé? Those who know the signature fresh, bright and vibrant red fruits in this coveted SGM blend can expect the same from this exceptional vintage. And for those who don’t, come give it a try!
Most club members can expect to see this in their February club shipment, but if not, feel free to add it on to this month’s allocation. Email [email protected] for more info!
The holidays are behind us, but a highlight was this bottle made by @mcpricemyerswines . “Hommage a Stevan Larner” is dedicated to my father who died in 2005 in a vineyard accident after a long day of harvesting. This blend of 68% Syrah and 32% Grenache has a sunny, reassuring warmth that feels unmistakably like him. Thank you Mac for keeping his memory alive. ❤️🍷❤️ @larnerwine
