This morning, Derek Rea from Larne Lifeboat Station visited the Station Bar in Larne, where he was presented with a generous donation of £370. This fantastic amount was raised through the Station Bar’s Boxing Day Pool Tournament.
The volunteer crew and fundraisers from Larne RNLI would like to thank the Station Bar and everyone involved for this wonderful donation, as well as for their continued generosity and ongoing support via the RNLI collection box at the bar.
Every donation makes a real difference and helps the RNLI work towards our goal of saving everyone. Our lifeboats, equipment, training, and essential kit are only available thanks to the kindness and support of communities like this.

STORM WARNING
Storm Chandra is on its way and will bring very strong to gale force winds. Winds will escalate with coastal gales, even severe gales and damaging gusts of up to 75mph (120km/h). These sort of wind speeds will lead to large coastal waves which are likely to overtop the sea walls and promenades.
An amber Wind Warning has been issued for Northern Ireland.
The predicted weather could lead to dangerous and uncertain conditions as strong winds hit the coasts and inland waterways. The RNLI advise the public to stay a safe distance from the water. Strong winds create powerful waves, rip currents, and can knock you off your feet.
The RNLI's safety advice is:
Stay well back from stormy, rough seas, cliff edges and any exposed waterside location.
Always check the weather forecast and conditions and be prepared to change your plans or cancel the trip if the forecast is not safe. If in doubt, don’t go in.
Remember, if you see someone else in danger in the water, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.

Some exciting news for Larne RNLI.
In the same year the RNLI celebrates two centuries of operation, Larne RNLI will be celebrating 30 years of operation in the North East Antrim area.
To help us celebrate, everyone is invited to join us at the lifeboat station on Olderfleet Road in Larne on Saturday 22 June from 12-4pm.
Come along and help us celebrate!
Some members of our volunteer crew took part in a casualty care course held at our local lifeboat station. With two courses being run over two weeks, it was a great opportunity to learn new lifesaving skills and to refresh some existing ones.
Thank you to the trainer, Michael, for teaching and coming up with scenarios for practice.
Thankfully, everyone passed the course and is ready to help save lives at sea!
Tickets for our celebratory black tie ball are available to buy.
The event is taking place on Friday 15 March at Magheramorne Estate with a drinks reception and 3 course meal provided with entry ticket.
There will be a ballot on the night with super prizes up for grabs.
Big thank you to our sponsors RES (Renewable Energy Systems), Green Roofs, Pitter Patter, Woodside Logistics Group, Prestige Flooring and Larne Rugby Club.
As well as Magheramorne Estate who are generously hosting us.
Contact details on the poster below if you are interested in attending
Big thank you to everyone for the overwhelmingly positive support we have had over the past couple of days.
It was brilliant to see our town represented on national television so well and to see such a positive outcome from a terrible situation was well worth it!
Thank you to Turkish Kebab and Pizzeria Larne for supplying our food for last nights watch party at East Antrim Boat Club.
Super proud of our crowd

Congratulations to our volunteer crew member, Ross, for passing out as deputy mechanic this week.
After an extensive 5 hour assessment with assessor trainer Stephen, Ross passed and is ready to take on a new role!
Well done Ross, good work!
Hi everyone. You may have seen some unusual activity on our page over the weekend. Unfortunately the page was hacked and I was locked out, but thankfully we are back!
Here is a picture of our all-weather lifeboat on training night during the summer
Congratulations to Larne RNLI’s two newest inshore lifeboat helms, Samantha and Jack!
Lots of preparation and hard work has paid off. Well done and continue to do your excellent work saving lives at sea!
A great night for training!
We train regularly to try and prepare for as many scenarios we might face when saving lives at sea. Sometimes the nights we train are more photogenic than others!
After training we welcomed members from Lough Anlea clay pigeon shooting, who raised a fantastic amount of £2150 for Larne RNLI by having a clay pigeon shoot and wild game food day.
Another donation was received from @belfastinternationalairport for over £1000.
All of the donations will help keep our volunteer crew kitted out in the best life saving equipment and ensure that we are ready to save lives at sea.
Thank you!
