⭐️ NEW SERIES ANNOUNCEMENT ⭐️
Brendan Canty @brendanfeelgoodlost is set to direct new Amazon TV series THE BOYS OF TOMMEN. Brendan will open the show, which is a romantic drama based on the hit novel series by Chloe Walsh and adapted for television by Poppy Cogan.
Brendan is an award-winning filmmaker whose debut feature CHRISTY premiered to critical acclaim at the Berlinale 2025, winning the festival’s Grand Prix. It went on to win Best Film and Best Director at this year’s IFTA Awards, as well as Best Irish Film at the 37th Galway Film Fleadh. CHRISTY was released theatrically to audience acclaim last summer. Brendan is now turning his hand to television for the first time in helming THE BOYS OF TOMMEN.

WAHALA, which Leo Lonsdale and Remi Weekes directs alongside Theresa Ikoko, has started shooting this week.
Cush Jumbo, Adelayo Adedayo, Deborah Ayorinde and Susan Wokoma are leading the cast of series for the BBC. The show is an adaptation of the Nikki May novel and is executive produced by Nawfal Faizullah for the BBC, Elizabeth Kilgarriff and Craig Holleworth for Firebird Pictures and Ikoko.
🎞️ MR NAWASHI 🎞️
Netflix has come on board to co-finance MR NAWASHI, the next feature from filmmaker Isabella Eklöf. The film, which has just started production, stars Esben Smed and Tanya Holm Andersen.
The film is part of Dogme 25, launched at Cannes Film Festival last year by directors May el-Toukhy, Milad Alami, Annika Berg, Jesper Just and Eklof. Thirty years after the original Dogma movement, the new initiative included 10 rules aimed at preserving “the originality of cinema”. Netflix in the Nordics joins Zentropa, DR and Nordisk Film Distribution in financing the five features.

THE MAN WHO STOLE PORTUGAL, a new crime caper film written by Richard Galazka, is now in production!
James Nelson-Joyce, Richard E. Grant, Dominic West and Emily Fairn star in the film, based om the true story of Alves dos Reis, who pulled off one of the largest frauds in history against the Bank of Portugal. Thomas Napper directs the film, which is produced by EMU Films.
