From grubby carpet, bare walls and abandoned bath to sunshine warmth and cosy textiles with the help of @laredoute_uk (and weeks of sanding, painting, filling and wallpapering 😂)
I can’t believe we’ve been sharing a bedroom with Dottie since we moved back in. That’s 7 months of room sharing with a 10 year old, I can tell you now, it does nothing for your sleep and sleep is SO important to me. Because when you get a good night’s sleep, you can rule the world right?
There was only one direction I was going to turn when it comes to creating the perfect bed set up because no one does bedding like La Redoute. Amazing ranges of stripes and checks, all designed to work beautifully together. And for me, it HAS to be linen because, as a woman of a certain age, temperature regulation is a real issue for me. Linen does everything it needs to do and keeps me warm in the cold and cool in the heat. Because trust me, I don’t need another reason to wake up at night.
I’ve gone with some other beautiful pieces. A chest of drawers with the most beautiful bobbin detail, a gorgeous wool rug and a mirror with curves in ALL the right places. I will share the links on stories.
As with any renovation, there’s still a way to go. Next stop curtains and carpets, and that’s the joy of a renovation right? Things take time but we’ve got used to that
