Intertwined Residence presents a two-family dwelling organized linearly, with front and rear two-storey volumes framing a central, column-free 9-meter glulam hall as the social core. Ground-level communal spaces contrast with upper-level private suites, balancing autonomy and collective living.
The daylight-rich central void connects entry, sunken seating, and the yard, while an upper-level bridge behind woven rattan screens preserves privacy. Materially, the scheme pairs concrete volumes with warm glulam, accented by steel and natural stone, featuring exposed concrete floors and carved timber to express craft and tropical materiality.

We are truly excited to share the finished images of our project, The Inside Looking Out Residence! This home was one of our earliest designs, created during the COVID period, and it was an eye-opener for the owners in their quest to build a house that connects with nature.
Our design maximizes the site’s potential by responding to climatic conditions, creating pleasant spatial experiences, and capturing views of the ocean. The materials chosen are robust and well-suited for the coastal environment.
