Great to visit @artgalleryofnsw Archie, Wynne & Sulman today with these two 🥰😍 … highlights were Iluwanti Ken & Robert Fielding Wynne works 🙌 both powerful in their own ways ❤️
A week on Arrernte Country West MacDonnell Ranges on the Larapinta Trail. Carved out this time to be offline, with friends where the days are long, legs sore, appetites endless and heart full 🙏 also heartbreaking to see the spread of the buffel grass after the rains .. only just recently declared a weed yet still being planted in NT and causing huge biodiversity loss 💔 thanks to some seriously epic pics by @kalitacorrigan 🙌
Presence is exhibiting 3 magnetic works by @laramerrett from 7 - 17 May at @artsclifton
Merrett describes her practice as exploring ‘geographies of space, atmosphere and physicality,’ with a strong environmental consciousness that resonates through her work.
Opening event: Saturday 9 May, 11am–2pm

This morning we were on a mission to see cuttlefish at Coogee and were not disappointed 💙 well captured by @adriatix 📷👌 thanks to my fellow swimmers Rebecca, Nivea and Adriana for this mornings adventure 💫😍
Ahhh what a total thrill to be a finalist in this year’s Wynne Prize 💕🙏💫 @artgalleryofnsw
‘Fair winds and following seas’ – a sailor’s blessing before a voyage.
Swimming in the ocean demands full presence of mind and body, reading the wind, current and swell, and relying on fellow swimmers. Untethered from land, it is vast and stilling.
This work brings the ocean into the domestic landscape, which has its own riptides, swells and storms. Using hand-dyed indigo thread and cyanotype ink on silk jersey to create it at home made me feel close to my family and friends, and helped keep me present, stitch by stitch.
In uncertain times, the ocean, art-making and community hold me steady. hand-dyed indigo thread on silk jersey, 40.5 x 36 cm
A series of small intimate works for @melbourneartfair@sullivanstrumpf
My travelling works that I carry around and pack and unpack from different bags. Being with these textile works means I keep my hand in. It's a tether to the unconscious, making, stitching and colouring while working alongside marine scientists for my post grad research.

Hosted by Gamay Rangers in La Perouse at Yarra Bay House today, joining Eden LALC Rangers and UNSW marine scientists. Working with sea urchin pigment means being part of these ongoing conversations - between First Nations custodians, marine scientists, and artists - about care, critical restoration, and our changing coastlines. #gamayrangers #edenlalc #projectrestore #unswmarinescience #unswartanddesign
Great to finally share my ongoing research @unswartanddesign that wouldn’t be possible without important collaborations with marine scientists @projectrestoreau@adriatix working with sea urchins ‘pest-kin’ from Gadigal waters at Coogee and Sydney Harbour. @projectrestoreau also collaborates with @gamayrangers 💙 harvesting, cleaning, dehydrating, grinding sea urchins into purple pigment has led to many experimentations, personal injury, learning and understandings about this incredible native species. 🌊
