Today we said goodbye to my dear Uncle Al. When I was a kid, Uncle Al and Aunty Jan coming to stay was the absolute most exciting thing in the world. Uncle Al taught me how to play chess, dominoes and every card game going; I so enjoyed playing games with him for hours on end. This pic is the full house of Baker cousins plus dad and Aunty Barb. RIP uncle Al, one of the best x
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed from my socials recently that I’ve started a new gig! I’m delighted to have joined the Songwriter & Publisher Partnerships team at Spotify as Lead for UK & International.
This is a team with the core mission to expand Spotify’s support of songwriters and publishers all over the world. The team is led globally by the wonderful Jacqueline Ankner, a songwriter herself, and is doing amazing work to champion and support the creators at the very heart of our business.
I’m excited to dive in, and we have big plans as a team to extend the tools, opportunities and visibility we provide for our songwriter partners. Let’s go!!
(Sharing here some pics from meeting my new team + many more in New York last week. Featuring none other than the icon Diane Warren who came in to speak about her songwriting process and illustrious career!)
That’s a wrap! After 2 brilliant years as UK GM at FUGA and 6 years in the Downtown family in total, I’ve now left the building! I’ve accepted a new opportunity and am excited for my new chapter - but also sad to say goodbye to a lot of incredible colleagues and friends. I always forget to post on the grid these days, so here’s a little dump of some of my favourite moments from the last 6 years…
Another 2024 round up photo dump, this time family and friends. So many beautiful occasions and special memories this year - my 40th, mum’s 80th, family and friends’ weddings, weekends away with my sister, time at home with my parents... Grateful to have such amazing people in my life 💜
I never remember to put things on the grid these days, but this year had some spectacular moments, so adding a few photo dumps before 2024 ends! Firstly: our September road trip through BC, Canada. I would relive every single moment if I could - there’s nothing like feeling small and insignificant immersed in the absolute beauty of nature. Bears, beers and the best hikes of my life 🤎
10 years of the Women in Music Awards. Whilst we as an industry are very much still on the journey towards greater diversity, representation and inclusion, it’s really something to stop and reflect on how far we have come in this decade. I’m immensely proud that @ali_and_madge and I co-created an event that has celebrated so many women from across our business. We sat down with @anna_fielding to chat about how and why the awards began, and the journey so far. Link in bio. Photos by @lhschiefer .
