When conceptualizing the look for @babyface , I set out to create a design that not only reflects him as an artist, but also embodies the essence of his musical legacy.
His legendary career defined by writing and producing some of the most iconic and enduring R&B songs of the past several decades has solidified his status as true R&B ROYALTY. As one of the genre’s reigning kings, it felt essential that the garment convey a sense of stature, refinement, and timeless artistic influence.
These pearl teardrops symbolize the emotional depth and soulful vulnerability that define his compositions, while also reflecting the romanticism woven throughout his lyrics. In this way, the garment transforms into a visual extension of his music where the artist becomes the art itself.
