My son wanted a family road trip for Christmas. That’s all he asked for. So we flew to Tennessee and drove through Mississippi to Louisiana where we rang in the New Year in New Orleans then on to Texas. We ate every kind of food you could imagine. Saw gators on the bayou. Hit Buc-ee’s a few times (iykyk). Got to see a lot of places I’d never have a reason to see. Would I have rather been on a beach somewhere exotic? Maybe. But what I know for sure is that before I blink this version of my kids will be long gone. The beach will always be there. This was way better. Happy New Year!
When I was coming up, seeing a Black woman lead at the highest level was so inspiring to me. Sylvia didn’t just break glass ceilings three times over as the first Black woman to chair major labels. She was behind artists across every genre from hip hop to pop to rock and that really resonated with me. She showed the world that Black women can lead it all. She left a blueprint for those of us following behind her. I am so blessed to have had so many great women to look up to in this business and you are one of them.
Thank you so much for leading the way @iamsylviarhone . 🖤👑
Thank you @billboard . Also huge thanks all the incredible women at Atlantic. Some who I’ve grown up with…and many that I’ve had the pleasure of watching grow and blossom. “Here’s to strong women. May we know them. Let us be them. May we raise them.”
