I only started learning to DJ this year. I didn’t do it with any intention of playing in public. I wanted to learn cos I work at serato & I don’t like not knowing shit. Someone told me ages ago that to know, is to experience. And to experience, is to do. So here I am, on the 10 year Anniversary of Shenanigan, doing.

Glass jars filled with homemade raspberry jam, crunchy roast potatoes and handwritten letters. Trees filled with fruit and immaculate gardens. Fluffy sweaters and hair perfectly set. Warm hugs and cold hands and a lounge always overheated. Containers to the brim with baked treats and a sneaky $5 note pressed into my palm after each visit. Quietly independent, but still soaking up the noisy chaos of her grand and great grandkids. Always interested, always thankful and always with a big, beaming smile, right to the very end.
The earth spun for 106 years with you on it. What a strange thing it must be for it to keep spinning without you.
