My poem, The Ocean Never Stops Asking, is featured in @guardian for Australian Poetry Month. It reflects my perspective on a day at the beach, growing up in ‘90s Australia as the child of Cambodian refugees. I’d love for you to read it—follow the link in my latest story. Published on the 43rd anniversary of my family’s arrival in Australia, this piece holds special meaning for me. Thank you to my wonderful readers and @redroompoetry ♥️ #langleav #PoetryMonth
How does one recover from a book like this? @langleav I’m not okay and I loved this book! #iknowtheants #bookstagram #bookrec #5starread #booksbooksbooks
How to even start a review for a book which will stay in my mind forever? This was a heavy story which was utterly heartbreaking, and at the same time, hopeful in parts.
While the central plot revolves around solving a murder, there is so much more to it. It explores how cycles of trauma and our formative experiences profoundly impact the course of our lives.
Lang’s ability to storytell with such strong imagery and lyricism is truly incredible. Her skill in combining what would appear, on the face of it, as a thriller/murder mystery, with a profoundly moving exploration of intergenerational trauma is awe-inspiring.
Many thanks to @langleav for gifting me a beautiful signed copy of this book which publishes in July 2026!

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙧𝙗:
A haunting, emotionally layered story about friendship, trauma, and the secrets we carry from childhood. When Mei’s life starts falling apart, her past resurfaces through her childhood best friend’s memoir, forcing her to confront a tragedy that never truly left her.
𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨:
Mei is messy, flawed, and deeply human—you don’t always agree with her, but you feel her confusion and pain. Soey’s presence lingers like a ghost throughout the story, while the dynamics between the childhood friend group add depth and tension.
𝙈𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨:
This one is slow-burning but deeply unsettling in the best way. The writing is lyrical (as expected from Lang Leav), almost poetic, yet it carries a quiet heaviness. The story gradually unravels, pulling you into its emotional chaos rather than shocking you outright.
It’s not your typical fast-paced thriller—it’s more introspective, more about why things happen than just what happens. The themes of memory, guilt, and perception stay with you long after you finish.

Happy #IndieBookstoreDay 📚☕️
Throwback to my first signing at an indie bookstore in Singapore. Books were always my refuge so that night, it felt surreal to be there as an author, to meet my readers for the first time. 😍
Indie bookstores were the first to believe in Love & Misadventure, placing it into the hands of readers and shaping the beginning of my career.
Now, with my new novel, I Know the Ants releasing this July, I feel so grateful to see that journey come full circle. You can now pre-order I Know the Ants at your favourite indie bookstore via @bookshop_org 📘🐜 🔗 Link in profile.

Thank you, Harper Perennial, for these incredible books! 📚✨ I’m so excited to read them and share my thoughts soon. These picks already have me completely intrigued and ready to cancel my plans for reading time. 💃🏼💕
Both stories sound powerful, unforgettable, and wildly different in the best way. Thank you for sending such amazing reads my way!
✨ QOTD: Which grabs you more — emotional mystery or gothic horror? 👀

Another 5⭐️ book by the amazing @langleav 👏 |ad-gifted
I’ve been reading Lang’s books ever since I discovered her poetry from the Tumblr days and I’m so happy that all these years later I’m still loving her books 📖
The story follow Mei as we are introduced to her life and how a tragedy in their childhood led to her best friend’s little sister being murdered which affects the friend group 👀
Years later, the sister published a memoir after she starts regaining some of her lost memories from the tragic event which leads to Mei trying to solve the mystery as her life falls into a spiral 🤯
A heavy emotional story with a lot of twists and surprises that you won’t expect, this book needs a place on your shelf so make sure to preorder it because I Know The Ants comes out on 21st July of this year 😉
