I’VE GOT A HOUSE!! After almost 3 years, 46 unsuccessful house offers (!!!), 6 months in a motorhome, a nervous breakdown and living out of my car for the past 12 months, I’ve finally secured a place!! Huge love to those of you who let me sleep on your sofas, floors, at your workplaces, your homes while you were on hols, for letting me care for your pets and to the Gym for their showers every morning! Washing to EDM at 8am really was an experience. I like to be as positive as I can but fuck me the past two years have been nothing short of hell on earth and it’s only by pure love from friends that I am here today. I BLOODY LOVE YA + I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL! <3 If you’re ever struggling, there’s a spot on my sofa for you but not yet as I’m sleeping there! x

Last year, as I was leaving America after 3 months of exploring, the Library of Congress released archival photos by John Margolies into the public domain. I’d spent the entire trip completely inspired by fibreglass roadside ā€˜art’ and so this archive was SUCH a good way to wrap up the trip. I’ve spent the last 12 months watching YouTube vids on how to use fibreglass and now that I’ve got a garden I am eager to fill it with sculptures! If you know anyone who has used fibreglass (even in building work) please reach out as I’d love to learn how to use it properly so that I can make big goofy stuff! + if anyone wants to do a road trip seeing some of the stuff that is still left from this half century long photography project. Let’s do it! #roadsideamerica #roadsideamericana

If you know me, you’ll know this is HUGE in my world! Last year, I was researching the mystery of what happened to an art environment that was dismantled before vanishing shortly after it was registered to the National Register of Historic Places. I discovered an article from the local newspaper dating back 46 years, it mentioned they once displayed some dolls at a local museum after their creators had passed and so I got in touch to see where they were now. By the time they replied I was back in England but I couldn’t believe it when they said that Beverly was still on show all these years later 🤯🤯🤯 I didn’t get to view her until YESTERDAY!!!! I was blown away. She is the only doll on public view in the world! If you wanna read about Cal and Ruby Black and find the whereabouts of the other dolls today, my first zine is on my website 🩷 Swipe to the end for a before and after of the environment, I used old pictures of the space to align it with mountains in the vast desert and confirm where it once stood. It felt only right to visit their graves and pay my respects while I was in the area.

A few pics from visit to the home of Kenny Irwin where it’s Christmas all year round and robots tower 58 feet high. He started creating this space aged 9 and as we arrive to visit, he is outside building his sculptures that are made from unwanted objects the neighbours donated. A visual sensation and a mesmerising experience. There are more photos on my substack. Thanks @perfectlymadebirds ✨ If ya like this, follow my @landshrines where I document spaces in the world that I’d consider shrines.

Could you be Scooby’s forever home? I’ve loved fostering Scooby, he is a total love bug, you’d be so lucky to have him as a companion! He does love to have those cuddles for himself and so he would prefer to be the only dog in your family. If you’re looking for a sweetheart, look no further. Check out more info at @hopeforpodencos and hopefully you could be his forever home He is being fostered in the U.K. šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ #hopeforpodencos #podenco

As we drove through the impoverished neighbourhood of Watts in South LA, it was hard to imagine that something magical would be waiting for us round the corner. Despite knowing about Watts Towers for years, I had purposefully avoided any research on them, knowing that one day I’d see them for myself and it would be a total surprise. I had only seen black and white photos and assumed due to their towering height of 104ft that they would be of metal construction so it was beyond my wildest imagination when we arrived to cement towers covered in pastel mosaics and shells. I was overcome with emotion and spent the 30 minutes that I was granted with the towers in awe and in love with the work one man created by hand without any machinery. See last photo for him climbing the towers with a bucket of cement. You can read about the history of the Towers, Simon Rodia’s story and how in the 1950’s the city of Los Angeles tried to tear them down by following the link in my bio. #wattstowers #simonrodia #artistenvironment #landshrine

I was speaking to a steward at Salvation Mountain who told Natalie and I that there’s frustrations between two parties who care for the site. Some believe it should be restored and kept for people to see as Leonard had hoped and others believe it should be kept as an authentic piece of his folk art. What do you think? Brutal Typo: *unfortunately Leonard passed away in 2014

This zine began after my last trip to america when i visited a sparse desert landscape that some forty years ago, was home to an AMAZING artist environment. I had become obsessed with the place, spending sleepless nights figuring out the coordinates of the location and cross referencing google maps with the minimal archive photos that were available until i was sure i’d found it, it was located one hundred miles away from where i was staying and I’d be headed there on November 1st. In this zine, I tell the story of Cal and Ruby Black, how this space came to be and what happened to the dolls. It’s my first ever time putting out illustrations and writing into the world and it’s close to being sold out, if you were thinking of getting one. Don’t linger as I don’t have plans to re-print it. šŸ’– Each zine comes with a free doll sketch of you so drop your insta in the notes section when checking out. Thanks for looking! It’s a fiver, which is less than a pint these days. Link in bio eyyyy!

There’s nothing quite like English eccentricities and to find them in all their glory, a visit to a folk festival will do the trick. I adore people being their glorious selves and it’s these kinds of celebrations that make me feel stoked about my heritage. Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival 2026

On first glance of Mark’s Folly, one might assume it was built by a fancy pants from the 1800’s however it’s believed most of this folly was built after Mark retired in the 1980’s and 90’s. Escaping the cold climate for 3 months at a time, Mark sought to bring a slice of Italy to his Welsh garden. He’d spend his travels sketching the buildings like the Duomo, Rialto Bridge and the Leaning Tower Of Pisa (Unfortunately the latter leant a little too far and was recently removed) I arrived in Wales with the plan of visiting Mark’s Folly up in the hills so it was a total treat when I found me old pal Ceri was visiting the same town for a bike trail so we got to meet up for the last day of the year! We headed up to the folly together and she took these gorj pics! Half are mine but any that are good are deffo @stillsbyceri like this mid action shot of Scooby seeing the resident cat!!! It’s disappointing to see influencers broadcast the location of this place to anyone and everyone, it’s now a shorter scroll than finding the ingredients to a recipe you like. While we were there some obnoxious people came by and their kids were smacking the artwork with large sticks, i had to try not to scream. Anyway, what a way to see the year out -woo!

A compromise between husband and wife led to this garden packed full of sculptures. Watch till the end to see what it looks like today. Read more about it on my Substack. (This was supposed to be published on my @landshrines acc but my phones super broken and corrupted the reel so it only exists here and fucked if I can be bothered to spend time making another!)
