LANDBACK HARDCORE is Payton Mitchell (she/her) and Rayne Bomberry (she/her). What started out as a vague concept in community building turned into something very special. Payton has years of experience in activism, climate justice, solidarity action and community building. Rayne has years of experience in hxc and punk promotions, solidarity action, and has been playing in a band for a number of years. Together, we aim to curate a space that is not just accepting and welcoming of marginalized groups but uplifts and celebrates these groups! Gives them a voice and a place to belong within hardcore and beyond. If you want to share our platform HIT OUR DM's because we want to hear from the folks in this scene who are unheard. Yall... Halloween was incredible. We collectively raised $730 for the @thesameerproject and donated $660 from ticket sales and raffle tickets!! Norfolk has been showing up for hc, and that's everything I've hoped for. I'm doing my absolute best to make a space here for people who have gone against the grain, and so far, every show has been so, so worth it. Many nya:węh's: Thank you to Qwan, Vile Decree, Death Perception, The Drafted, and Backbone for making the trip out to play. Thank you to @swamp.pup for not only hosting the raffle, but also for donating prints for the raffle, and for being a massive motivator/resource/support through the planning and execution of this event. They have many years of community organizing under their belt, and it means the absolute world that they had a hand in this. Thank you to @paytonr.m for being there in spirit. If not for Payton, I might not have made such a point to put Norfolk on the map. Thank you @norfolkagsociety for letting us host these shows at the JFB. Them believing in us, and in me, gives me such high hopes for this county. Thank you to @footfairyflip for being a day 1 homie and helping tie up loose ends at my events. Lots of things make me question continuing my involvement in hardcore, but shows like this make me so happy. They revive my motivation and drive to build community and be in-your-face. I mistakenly thought the chuffed.org donation was $60 because an additional $10 was donated to chuffed. Our total amount raised because of this event is $730 CAD.
