It feels so good to finally tell you that Land Kit 2.1 is here!
We look forward to hearing your stories about how Land Kit made your process faster, improved your deliverables, and customized your process.
Ultimately, it’s about design freedom and design performance all at once.
Definitely checkout our post about 2.1 in our releases feed on the website.
Season 2 of Kit Crashing is starting next week! We have a new discussion-based format that we think you will enjoy. Your hosts, @paisajish and @chrislandau , look at landscape design and design process, then we work through new ways of approaching these problems with computational design tools. Be sure to subscribe on YouTube so you get new episodes when they drop: '@Kit_Crashing '. See you next week!
We have 5 sessions this month. Learn about mastering 3D Topography, Custom Paving, or just Land Kit in general.
BONUS: We are doing our first official Soil Cell workflow onboarding for those of you planting trees in urban places.
Sign up for these free sessions or others happening in April and May at landkit.design/learn.
What if we could use leaf litter, limb trimmings, and clippings as a means for regulating water infiltration across a site in a scalable way that enhances biodiversity? I’ll be including this idea in my upcoming talk at @thecelaofficial conference.
Land Kit allows you to build more adaptive design logic. This was a snip from a project we went after. Seemed to stand out on its own. Captured straight from Rhino. #landkit #rhino3d #grasshopper3d #landscapearchitecture
ℹ️🌱Our free learning sessions this month! Learn about Land Kit. Learn about rules-based and data-based planting workflows. Learn about yourself!

Office hours on Tuesdays are shifting from 7am to 9am EST.
7 was a bit early. 😅 Ben will be there most Tuesdays (and 12pm EST most Wednesdays) to answer any questions you are having or to help out with any technical difficulties.
It’s a popular resource and we already see a lot of folks in Wednesday. We hope to see more on Tuesdays now as well.
Link to the Office Hours calendar is on the Land Kit Website Campus page.

Land Kit is ready to run in 2026. We have all sorts of fun stuff in store to get you up to speed with computational design. Let’s start with Free Training Sessions and New Workflows.
And you can pass the baton to us if you need a little help on that last lap.
New Workflows. Find the 2.1 versions with all new designs, on our website or our YouTube.
We are making these 2.1 Workflows available now to the public and sharing them alongside our 2.0 versions.
So what is improved?
🍎 Works on a MAC! (Bye bye, Parallels)
✨ Shinier (the UI looks 100% better)
🏃♀️➡️ Faster (avoids some issues we had in the previous versions)
☺️ Better Experience (saving settings, etc)
🌳 Huge improvements to plant list selection and constraints
We are also sharing the Soil Cell Workflow which is SUPER helpful for folks who are designing soil cell installations. Now you can think more 3-Dimensionally when you are finding all that precious soil volume for your lovely trees.
This is the best semester ever to learn Land Kit (also see all of our free onboarding sessions on the website).
REMINDER: These work on Rhino and Grasshopper but you don’t need to know Grasshopper. You don’t even need to know Rhino that well.
New 2.1 Workflow BETAs are live! These feature a new look, more responsive UI and ability to work on Mac (without parallels).
Let us know if you want to test these. Just post “BETA is betta” in the comments. Or send us a note.
Hoping to release more officially in the New Year.
Don’t forget about the 50%. Which is off. The price. Which is nice.
We are giving our workflows a big upgrade. We are using a new UI builder called DKUI. This allows us to do custom HTML, CSS, and javascript to create a much better experience in our Topo, Paving, and Planting Workflows.
There are a bunch of upsides to the new builds so far:
- More Responsive 🫰
- Works on PC or Mac (no parallels!)💻
- Cleaner UI hierarchy💅
- Sliders that wait to process till you are done moving them (very important for these process-intensive functions)🎚️
- A handsome new look 🤵♂️
So who wants to test these out? We will be sharing very soon.
