Whether you’re seeking expert answers to your old-house lime mortar and plaster questions, or craving serious hands-on practice installing pointing, base coats, and finish coats — these workshops are for you.
Both sessions cover the same comprehensive material:
• Deep-dive chemistry of lime
• Traditional techniques & best practices
• Plenty of in-situ plastering and pointing work inside the historic mill itself
We’ll use the beautiful conference center for the technical/chemistry portions and head straight into the mill for all the real-world application.

Another great day living the dream in Lanc 🌹
Today we tested the process of borrowing tools from the tool library to kick off year two of planting fruit and nut trees and shrubs at Chiques Creek Farm where @spice.of.fife is building a silvopasture food forest with friends and family!
The wheelbarrow and pitchforks worked like a dream and the lending software at the tool library worked without a hitch!
All of these small trials help us test and prep for our community-wide Grand Opening on May 14th! Consider becoming a Founding Member, loan out some tools, and help us test the process before the big day mid-May!

Paula is meticulous and unwavering in her sharing of skills. Learn to do it right, practice, and build on those fundamentals! Don't advance til you've got the basics! We're hoping to take Paula's boot camp and bring back her generational skills to bless our workshop!
Can't wan't wait to move in permanently... 😏 a hammock suspended between the rows will work just fine.

It’s a Saturday morning, so @andrewpaulsmusic and I are running errands and catching up on chores. Andrew borrowed a drill from a new tool library in northeast Lancaster City to hang a bike in our living room, so we returned it to its home at @lancworkshop . It was my first time visiting and I left feeling so inspired!
@lancworkshop is a new community-focused workshop where they teach essential skilled trades to participants of all backgrounds, from residents hesitant about their first DIY project to aspiring tradespeople seeking to develop new skills. Stewardship is part of everything they do: for neighbors, historic architecture, and our planet.
