So, when one of the people Lancashire Mind supports found it difficult to pursue their passion due to eyesight difficulties, a laptop donation from Ego Technology, arranged by Sam Denham, really did change his life.
.
The service user, who asked not to be named, said: "I design and develop fantasy animations and storylines which provide distraction and occupy my mind; this greatly supports my mental health. I am awaiting cataract operations on both eyes, so I was really struggling, trying to rely on my mobile phone. Since my housing officer has given me the laptop, which was kindly donated, I am able to see the screen far better.”
.
The man is one of around 80 tenants supported by Lancashire Mind’s housing service which provides accommodation for people experiencing poor mental health.
.
Corinne Ainscough, housing and wellbeing officer at Lancashire Mind, said: "We are very grateful to Ego Technology for the very kind donation of three laptops. We recognised several of our tenants were facing digital barriers.
.
"Ego Technology's support has helped empower our tenants, bringing them another step closer to achieving their goals and gaining independence."
