This morning was that much sweeter meeting Gus. He came with our friends, Melissa and Tina, over at Animal Care and Control as they get ready for their big fundraiser - Steps for Shelter Pets. Itās happening on May 30th. Head to their page for details. @animals_clt
This little guy makes every day feel like Motherās Day! Thank you for making me a mommy and being my greatest teacher.
Happy Motherās Day to all the moms - seasoned, new and soon to be.

One of the loveliest people Iāve met in Charlotte is Elizabeth Anne. She joined me a couple weekends ago to talk about how we can prepare for Motherās Day with some modern etiquette. Check out her tips on WBTV.com or through her page @charlotteetiquette
Itās a self care kind of day! Getting my yearly mammogram is a non negotiable. I worked an earlier shift today so I could make my appointment.
Like 50% of women, I have dense breasts. After hearing @jillmartin story, I really advocated for myself to get an ultra sound this year. My request was initially met with resistance so I pushed harder.
Hopefully this encourages someone else to push harder. Advocate for yourself!

I love getting the chance to support an #HBCU. The Johnson C. Smith Arch of Triumph Gala was a beautifully inspiring night with friends and co workers. I could not be more proud to be an HBCU alumnae.
In 2026.. more of this and less āwe shouldā. Just do it... even if it means a flight or a drive. Glad we did, Felicia! ā¤ļøš #legoland #sandiego #boymoms #ff
We are in a severe drought! Charlotte Water has initiated a voluntary water restriction starting Monday, April 20. However, based on how things look now it could eventually be elevated to mandatory. Burn bans are still in effect.
Staying up late for a great cause and a fun night serving as MC with Alex Giles for the Levine Museum of the New South Catalyst fundraiser. Thank to the museum and all the extraordinary panelists who helped us explore the history of southern food. Cheers!
It is Black Maternal Health Week. The maternal mortality rate for black women is more than 3X higher than that of white women, but people are looking for solutions. One of them is Neshe Conley. Sheās created an app called Black Nexis that is documenting black women birth stories positive and negative from preconception through postpartum. She says storytelling is an important part of the data that helps tell the full story of how black women are treated and spoken to during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. She believes having the knowledge of these stories could produce better outcomes for black women. #blackmaternalhealthweek #pregnancy #postpartum #birthstory #spelmancollege
