Favorite shot of all Ridge Rally 2025 weekend. To me this Mavic shot was as tricky as a balls-out FPV shot. Mimicking a WRC style helicopter tracking shot, the challenge was maintaining the frame, controlling the varying speed, direction, and elevation, predicting the car movement, managing the battery, but still being a smooth operator. Everything had to be learned and experimented while the cars were flying on the rally course. Memorizing all the cracks and bumps on the road just like the drivers so I could predict when they were braking and accelerating. Then adjusting the control rates of my drone’s every aspect for this specific mission. Again I had to thank everyone who make this weekend happen @rassoolracing@thatguyaric@teef.fpv and more. The lack of IBIS is actually good for FPV. If Sony decides to release a ZV-E10 II with the same sensor from FX30 minus the IBIS, I will pick it up immediately. Together with autofocus f/1.4 primes on the iFlight ProTek 60 Pro, I could fly real close to the subject and achieve shallow DOF on FPV.
