My friends and I were invited to meet with second year university students who are designing architecture for disabled dancers who need accessible spaces. The entrance to the brand new building was not as accessible as we hoped it would be. I’m sure these rocks beside the automatic door button are against code. My friend Lance and I are both ambulatory wheelchair users, so we noticed it right away. I wonder how many people understand why this is a problem. I was late arriving because the parking lot only had accessible parking spots available that were designated for people heading to the nearby hospital so I had to park in an non accessible spot.
