Lana Svirezheva @lanasvirezheva verbindet in ihren Arbeiten klassische Malerei mit gesellschaftlichen Themen, Humor und einem Blick auf das Tragikomische. Geprägt durch ihre Ausbildung an der Florence Academy of Art und ein Masterstudium in interdisziplinären kßnstlerischen Praktiken entwickelt sie Bilder, die handwerkliche Präzision mit sozialkritischen und oft grotesken Elementen verbinden.

Even though art is my profession, I've been drawing for fun as well in the evenings, alongside of having a cosy cup of tea, with soft lights on. It's a time when anything goes, and this piece was mostly just coloring in my spontaneous sketch, no rush, just enjoying sharpening the pencils often. And yet, lo and behold, this process gave rise to the glorious Bat King đ (a mix of the Mexican Free-Tailed bat with the friendly ear shape of a Hoary Bat)

My Cornish Rex catsâone light, one darkâ continually draw my attention to the elegance of line in living bodies. Their forms, delicate yet muscular and at times slightly uncanny, evoke my interest in comparative anatomy and the recurring patterns of nature.
In their stretches and sunlit contortions I see echoes of both the human figure and plant life: curves, tendrils, and subtle tensions between softness and sharpnessâclaws and thorns as related forms.
