Sneaking a look/listen at the final cut for North Star, a new film by the great #louishock
My first score for Louis, mostly composed on a Prophet 12, completed in January, and a real honor. Expect North Star to emerge on the film festival circuit in the coming months. It’s a hell of an experience. I’ve never seen anything quite like it.

ICYMI... director Bob Burnett and I completed a vignette doc a couple of weeks ago, centering on #orenambarchi and his relationship with and the influence of #keithrowe . Lots of history packed into this 7-minute little gem. I can be fully objective in saying this is a must-watch.

A Mother’s Day stroll through Elandan Gardens. Her second time at this special spot in the world, my first. You lose sense of time here, forgetting about material concerns. Centuries-old trees got me thinking about processes, geologic ones, like the lifelong and eternal process of discovering what it all means and what truly matters in the end. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, the ones I’m fortunate enough to have in my life, and especially the one in slide 8. ❤️🌲🌳

Albumen is the collaborative project of the core trio of Hound Dog Taylor’s Hand, plus Greg Kelley, Noel Kennon, and Mike Watt.
Restoration and mastering are their own processes, and occasionally I get to enjoy the challenge of doing both. Proud to have contributed to the second edition of Indian Talking Machine from Sublime Frequencies, released in January. The sequencing, curation, research, and John Hubbard’s design all reflect genuine care… it’s a social artifact in the best sense. Thank you for your expertise and commitment, Robert and SF.
Upcoming session recording projects. So I’m getting my long-neglected chops in order, starting with picking patterns. The slightly wider neck on the 660/12 makes moving along the fretboard feel like a spring walk. Loving this guitar and what it brings to voicing options.
