Q1 marked a significant milestone in my journey as a journalist – 10 incredible years filled with unforgettable experiences, invaluable lessons, and countless memories.From fulfilling my dream of working at CNN to having the honor of covering prestigious events like the BET Awards, every moment has been a testament to dedication and passion. Interviewing icons like Tyler Perry and numerous other celebrities has been an absolute privilege, each encounter adding depth to my storytelling journey.
In addition to these achievements, I’ve had the opportunity to inspire and empower others as a motivational speaker & adjunct professor sharing insights and lessons learned along the way.

Over a month of silence.
I won’t lie.. I thought I didn’t get it.
But I kept the faith anyway.
February 23rd, I walked in those same doors with a different perspective.. knowing God was working the whole time.

After not getting my contract resigned after two years as a Senior Producer.
After just having my adjunct professor job
After countless, “sorry, we decided to move forward with another candidate”
After taking out loans because now I can’t afford to live.
After crying and not knowing my worth.
After working at Enterprise Rental car for 8 months and 2 weeks.
After getting accepted to be a secondary teacher and realizing I don’t want to get another masters.
After starting Voice Unlocked.
After going to Church and wondering why my prayers aren’t being answered.
After being counted out.
After the stop of being asked to attend media events.
After losing myself and my independence..

This season has taught me a lot about myself. One thing for sure, God will humble you in ways you never saw coming. I went from Senior Producer to freelance, and at first, that shift felt heavy. But I’ve learned that my title doesn’t define me. I am still an award-winning journalist, still walking in purpose, still committed to being a voice for the voiceless. This isn’t a setback… it’s a reset.🤏🏾
