Our rodeo wouldn’t be possible without our incredible volunteers!
From the gates to the stands, behind the scenes, and everywhere in between, each and every one of you brings heart, energy, and dedication that makes this event so special for our entire community.
We are beyond grateful for the time, effort, and care you pour into making rodeo weekend a success 🤠
As you enjoy the rodeo, we kindly remind everyone to show patience and kindness to those helping out. They’re giving their time to create a great experience for all. And if you’ve ever thought about getting involved, we’d love to welcome even more volunteers to the team for next year’s rodeo!
Our ECSA President Sam Walker was in the parade today! He was named the 2025 citizen of the year!
Sam has a long family history in Lakeside, he was raised on the Walker Dairy & Farm and has been instrumental in developing Lakesides youth as the El Capitan’s High School Agricultural teacher from 1984-retiring in 2009. He continued to support the FFA program by securing two privately funded state-of-the-art classrooms for the El Capitan FFA, providing hands on experience in agricultural processing and business skills. Sam was instrumental in acquiring the permit for the ticket office, he spearheaded the development of the community’s marquee and played a pivotal role in preserving that the Lakeside Rodeo continued when it faced potential shutdown. Even now in retirement, Sam’s dedication to the Lakeside community remains unwavering. As a dedicated member of the El Capitan Stadium Association, he continues to champion initiatives and benefit Lakeside’s youth and community. We are so grateful for all he has done!
