New record out today from @therealjohngary !!! I respect the hell out of Drew’s songwriting and attitude. He writes about real shit and gets it done. His minimal percussion kit and willingness to set up and play the song down quick and dirty gave me the opportunity to exploit a lot of the air around the sound and work on getting big sounds from small things. Big congrats to @evelynrosemusic1 on the release of her stellar holiday ep! Twas a joy recording such stellar musicians at @2200studios . I was sure all these songs were standards until our lunch break, when i learned evelyn wrote them all 🫠. Mixing this project was an exercise in not doing too much & respecting the ingredients. I think it sounds awesome! @bijanmakesnoyz on the master. 💙
