I wanted to capture a feeling of despair and convey loss specifically a loss that was close to me so I drew inspiration from Kathe Kollwitz's 'Mother with Dead Child.'
Kind of struggled with this one.

using a 'dead' palette this work depicts those that are farthest away from me and is a reminder of how close I was to death. It hurt so much to bring myself to look at the reference photo, but I'm glad to have put it outside of myself. I miss you. 988
