Happy Basant! In Lahore, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker, Deputy Assistant Secretary John Mark Pommersheim, and Consul General Stetson Sanders joined Lahoris in celebrating the season alongside American businesses that are strengthening commercial ties, setting high standards, and supporting economic growth for Americans and Pakistanis.
The United States remains committed to expanding shared U.S.-Pakistan opportunities by promoting growth, stability, and prosperity through trade and enterprise. 🇺🇸🌱
American leadership delivers results.
For more than a decade, the 🇺🇸 has invested nearly $2.6 million to help preserve iconic landmarks in Lahore’s Walled City—including the Lahore Fort and Wazir Khan Mosque—advancing skills training, job creation, and tourism-driven economic growth. These efforts strengthen local communities while supporting stability and opportunity, outcomes that benefit both the United States and Pakistan.
CG Stetson Sanders recently joined the inauguration of the newly transformed Food Street, highlighting how smart American investment helps turn historic sites into thriving public spaces and engines of economic opportunity.
“Congratulations to all the partners and everyone involved in this project and the many others completed and underway, for your commitment to ensuring the Walled City of Lahore remains a source of pride for all Pakistanis and a destination for travelers from the world over.” – SS

Delivering Results for America, Building Stability Abroad
Consul General Stetson Sanders and Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education (SH&ME), Mr. Khawaja Salman Rafique, inaugurated the new integrated Case Flow Management System (CFMS) and Prison Management Information System (PMIS), a U.S.-funded project supported by the U.S. Mission’s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) and implemented by UNODC in collaboration with Punjab justice institutions.
This initiative reflects how American investment and innovation abroad protect U.S. interests at home. By making Punjab’s justice system more transparent, efficient, and accountable, the project reduces risks of crime and radicalization that can threaten regional and global security. A more stable, secure Punjab supports America’s national security priorities while showcasing U.S. leadership in smart governance and technology-driven reform.
With $1.1 million in U.S. funding, this system delivers real-time case tracking, improved inter-agency coordination, and public access for over 2.2 million users annually. These reforms directly advance U.S. goals of stronger partners, safer communities, and greater global stability all rooted in the America First vision of protecting U.S. citizens and interests through smart, strategic engagement overseas.
