SCENES FROM A FRIENDSHIP
Jerry McLaughlin
*Vernissage*: Friday, May 22, 2026
18:00 – 22:00
*Artist Talk*: 19:00
“Friendship is neither a feeling nor an emotion. It occupies a real space in our lives: mentally, physically, and temporally. Friendship is a mutual construction. Together, friends build something that none of them could create alone, just as the materials of these works are interdependent, supporting one another in order to achieve wholeness. Like friendship itself, these works contain unresolved, incomplete, even broken parts.”
Please join us Friday 22nd for this beautiful closing exhibition SCENES FROM A FRIENDSHIP.
See you to celebrate friendship, community, and everything we created together.

We are proud to welcome our next artist in residence JERRY MCLAUGHLIN.
Jerry McLaughlin lives and works in the high desert landscape of San Miguel de
Allende, Mexico. He is best known for his powerful, rough, yet subtle pieces that
reflect the architecture and surfaces, light and shadows of his surroundings. And
those shadows are important. Always navigating the interplay between beauty
and darkness, McLaughlin discovers beauty in shadow and then guides shadow
towards beauty.
Join us this Friday 22nd at his exhibition SCENES FROM A FRIENDSHIP.

Lagos | Berlin presents
INFINITE CARTOGRAPHIES
In “The Library of Babel”, Jorge Luis Borges imagined a universe of hexagonal galleries—endless and recursive—and elsewhere evokes a universe as “a sphere whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere. This work imagines Babel’s Library as a torus for the hexagonal tessellations to inhabit: a surface without origin or end.
To map the infinite is a paradox. Can a universe be represented on a surface? Does it expand, fold, or endlessly repeat? This personal inquiry deliberately remains open, unfolding as a continuous space where myth, form, and geometry converge.
Join us this April 24th for the opening.

Lagos | Berlin welcomes GRETA HAUSER as our Artist in residence this April.
Her multidisciplinary trajectory began more than 25 years ago. In her practice, the boundaries between art, architecture, and design blur naturally. The concepts of the labyrinth and the infinite act as a constant lens, while the exploration of non-linear geometries guide many of the formal decisions in her work. Her artistic production draws on multiple techniques, which in this exhibition come together as an inquiry into the existential and geometric
themes that Borges unfolds in his stories

PORTALS is a new series of paintings by Olga Hilgers exploring thresholds, presence, and transformation.
Through layered color fields and luminous centers, the works evoke the sensation of entering a passage - a moment where perception shifts and new possibilities begin to emerge.
Olga Hilgers is a Berlin-based artist whose practice investigates transformation through the principles of layering and connection. Working across painting, drawing, and mixed media, she explores how distinct materials and gestures can embody parallel, and at times contrasting, human experiences.
Join us this Friday 27th March from 7:00 pm

This piece is part of a new series exploring the lavachord with flowers and plant materials placed over the keys and strings. It is a continuation of the exploration of aleatory through microtonality: in this case, a fresh enredadera is woven through the strings and laid across the keys, creating a subtle but changing interaction with the instrument.
While previous materials have been mostly dry (except for the iris leaves, which were semi-rigid), this is one of the freshest materials used. Some of the leaves catch certain harmonics, some lightly damp the strings or keys, and some slowly shift position during the performance, altering the sound in small ways over time.
The base tuning is a five-limit just intonation with doubled notes, creating a highly resonant harmonic field underneath, and the occasional shimmer.
This enredadera was gathered in Tecate, Mexico, with Cerro del Cuchumá in the background and the plant itself close to the instrument. I hope to continue exploring this process with more flowers and plant materials soon in Puebla, Coatepec, Vancouver, and Japan. (Any recommendations?)

This piece is part of a new series exploring the lavachord with flowers and plant materials placed over the keys and strings.
It is a continuation of the exploration of aleatory through microtonality: in this case, the two iris leaves are woven through the strings, triggering different harmonics or muting keys.
The chupamirto, or red salvia, is placed in the middle more as an ornamental element, though it still has a small sonic effect in this piece.
The base tuning is in just intonation, remaining underneath as a supporting element.
I hope to explore this process with more flowers and plant materials soon in Puebla, Coatepec, Vancouver, and Japan. (Any recommendations?)
