Fun moment in Nice 🇫🇷 two Sundays ago.
Mike and I were headed to the beach, uncomfortably full from gut-busting French Tacos after our train ride .. when we spotted this cool random hip and started tossing movez at it.
Alexandre was watching with his homies from their balcony, day drinking and cheering us on. He eventually came down and kicked it while we skated - big hype!
Postcard piece in Nice 🇫🇷
I had a few leftover sprays when we pulled into this city on the Côte d’Azur last week, and I was determined not to let them go to waste ..
Finding a spot to paint was a challenge. Turns out Nice is really .. nice. Clean and touristy, at least in the center. It is the French Riviera after all.
Mike had the bright idea to zig zag the hills in search of alleyways / stairways / passageways .. and we luckily found this place that was all three. It was next to a seemingly abandoned pétanque court (French bocce). It was the perfect spot, and the walls were even primed a great neutral base color for me 💃
The panels on the fence and walls are images of pieces by Marc Chagall, as this walkway leads to a museum dedicated to his work. Weird stuff , j’adore! ❤️🤍🩵

A couple daze skating in Lyon, in and around Hotel de Ville - one of the funnest plazas I’ve skated! No JB sightings but he was there in spirit 🇫🇷
Only regret is that i didn’t even try to noseslide the upper bench .. legs were so thrashed i never juiced up. Guess we gotta go back 🥂
Filmed with love by Mike, Taj and Cliff 🫶 great crew great city!
Baguette Boiz en Lyon et Marseille 🇫🇷
Painted this piece along the (skateable) banks of the Saône River on our last night in Lyon last week. Great spot to skate, spray, lounge and picnic.
Carb-loaded up on photos of our baguette chronicles this trip .. Gluten Gang went all in! 🥖🥵
Merci beaucoup Mike, Taj, Cliff, Spence, Nate and French Tristan 💙🤍❤️
Richie @ The Rock 🪨

Huge thanks to Rachel & Chef Jimmy for bringing this to life. Hyped & honored to contribute to this amazing delicious island family biz!
Spring Fling @ Offshore 🐣🐝
I painted this ‘Bee*Chickadee’ piece last week & finally got a nice foto with some blue sky poking through.
Loved getting shoutouts in the streetz while working on this & hearing people’s reactions when they walk / drive / skate by. Fun canvas to keep seasonally remixing! Accepting ideas for the summer swerve .. 🏝️
‘Tourist Cost $1000’ sign for Ascensor Reina Victoria , which dates back to 1902 !
Clau had previously painted the ‘Subida - Bajada’ entryway sign, and was asked to make another showing the Foreigners Fee (Chileans pay 200 pesos .. Gringoz pay 1000 🤑)
Being a Gringo Maximo she passed the project off to me 😅💃I drew up the sign in her family’s studio and we rode the ascensor down to deliver it together.
Love these urban elevators .. they’re such a symbol of Valpo and they’re really fun to ride and watch. At one point there were close to 30 operational ascensores in Valparaíso. Sixteen of those remain today, and they are a National Monument of Chile.
Truly honored to leave a small mark on this slice of the city 🎢
Gracias por compartir esto conmigo @caudal_artes !! 💚💙
Last foto is at the top station of Reina Victoria - sprinkles street slide 🛝✨
Puerta de los vecinos 🫶
Last day in Chile and worlds collided ! 🌎💫
Last week mi familia chilena and I painted this doorway together right next to their workshop in Cerro Alegre. Did it at night and we all touched la puerta!
This week the Gringoz Lokoz pulled into town 🇨🇱 so I had to extend my trip by a few days to overlap 🐀
Yesterday I met up with both crews - separately - to say hasta luego then split for the Santiago airport.
But the epic surprise ending came right before takeoff: Clau blew my mind by sending me that last selfie with the sprinklesquad, like yo i just met your amigos!
Un encuentro del destino, Portland y Porteños in the streets of Valpo ✨💃
So grateful for the time with everyone here, truly amazing people and place.
Vecinos Alegres 💚💙
Aurora and I painted this mural together on the hillside walkway leading up to her family’s home in Cerro Alegre. Incredible experience with the best people !!
I met Aurora’s mom Clau while painting ‘Panchito el gato,’ which is right below this pathway. She told me that her 13-year-old daughter was super into the world of ‘arte callejero’ and we arranged to meet up and do some spray lessons.
Over the next week Aurora and I dove into painting this retaining wall. I had no idea we’d be doing something at this scale! It was the perfect place to experiment and learn.
Our concept draws from the city of Valpo: the slides of Cerro Concepción (where Auri once broke a nail 💅); paisajes with cobblestone streets; downtown plazas and trolebuses 🚎; completos in Playa Ancha 🌭; the city’s iconic piano staircase and ascensores 🎹🚠; and her dog Peter, who barked at me the whole time we were painting 😅
Truly special people and an awesome experience. Aurora, eres una estrella 💫
Muchísimas gracias familia !!!

The chileno homie Etiel told me I had to check out this beach .. and sure enough it became my favorite spot in the city ❤️🔥
Dreamy chance to paint and swim and chill with buena gente. The concept to paint Valpo at night seen from the bay was the vision of Víctor, el jefe del kiosko 🫡
I also got to meet Carlos, an OG sign painter, whose work is all over the walls and structures of this zone. El maestro!
This crew really cares about the scene - they’re super dedicated to keeping it clean and welcoming. Un abrazo vecinos!
Gracias a todo el equipo, de corazón 💚💙
‘Panchito’ en la calle Elías 🐈
Grateful and honored for the chance to paint this piece with poet / activist / thinker / teacher Arturo Morales at Interactive Spanish School in Valparaíso ♥️
I took a week-long language class with Arturo, along with fellow gringos Will and Steve. We discussed music, history, and world news; we wrote a collaborative group story; we drew a cinematic storyboard using lines from one of Arturo’s poems; and we chatted about life and tried to improve our language skills, both in class and over chelas frías afterwards 🍻
At the end of the week I asked Arturo about possibly painting the empty red wall adjacent to the classroom space. He was all for it - but what to paint ?
During class Arturo’s feline friend Panchito was always in and out, asking for rubs and snacks and then racing off up the street - and thus the theme of the mural became clear.
The line of poetry is from one of Arturo’s pieces, ‘Estallido Social o Pláticas de la calle Elías’ .. he said that it refers to the moment when we choose to break free from the conventions of our surroundings and begin to search for new horizons. Arturo is always dropping bombs like this! 🤯🔥
So happy to have met this crew and share a bit of each others worlds! Gracias chicos, gracias Arturo, viva Panchito, adelante calle Elías ♥️💙
