Living in Condesa, I have seen gentrification erode at the spirit of the colonia. Bookstores shuttered and restaurants shut down. Only for coworking cafes and pilates studios to open in their wake. I fear that Condesa will lose it’s quirk and its alma…
So I decided to share the places I adore. These spots have charm, they are one of a kind. Irreplaceable in their oddities.
Let’s pour our money and spend our time in these spots. And boycott the soulless newcomers (cough cough Blend Station cough).

This hole-in-the-wall panadería is open 24/7. You can buy conchas at three am! It is named after the main character of The Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolaño…the book to read while staying in Mexico City.

A used bookstore with all English language books. It is also a cultural hub for writers in Mexico City! Perfect place to get a feel for the English language literary scene in the city.

A ‘no wifi’ cafe, a rare spot where only authentic experiences are valued. Guardatiempos has been the meeting spot for writers and artists for decades. Ideas are exchanged, thoughts discussed, poetry read aloud…that kinda place!

Momentos en Taxco, tierra de máxima fidelidad a su cultura aunque duela. Les recomiendo buscar información de como celebran semana santa, es una locura (no apto para sensibles).
Mientras tanto, cada rincon con plata por doquier es una tentación. Todo es hermoso. Es buen destino turístico (con precauciones), pero 100% recomendado 🫰🏽
Uno de los shootings mas simbólicos que he tenido porque fue un día entero de cambiarme y alistarme en las calles de St Tropez, rodeada de miles de personas caminando a mi lado, observando mi arte, fue muy lindo y especial 🥹
