Earlier in the year, I visited Louisiana; after I went to the @icastshow with the @abstractwatercraft crew. When the show ended, I started my Redfish tour with @laflyguide , who invited me to check out the fishing scene in Venice. I finally found out what all the hype was about. It’s INCREDIBLE down there, and the fishing will have you wanting to change flights to stay longer! Eerily similar to what has happened with steelhead populations in the PNW, Redfish are facing some of the same challenges and awareness of the issue is the first step in reducing or eliminating the harvest amount. I love to eat fish, but would never do so if what I was eating wasn’t sustainability havestable. In Louisiana over harvesting can become a reality if it not already is. I plan on going back and its not for what I can put on my plate, it’s for tight lines only!
