Throwing a lil party at
@abercrombie.sydney this Friday night called International Sounds ✨
It’s all about building a dancefloor from global influence, digging beyond the algorithm and weaving rhythms, vocals and textures from all over. Latin, African, Middle Eastern, Balearic, Pan-Asian and beyond.
Joining me are two local DJs I’m loving right now:
@kimihendrix.dj is a Eora-born Vietnamese creative with a love for eclectic, global and funky grooves. I first clocked her sound through a mix that included cultural elements into a deep, bouncy club set. Kimi has played at Club 77, Chinese Laundry, and The Burderkin, and is known for disco-funk, bass, breaks and house tunes.
@nati_daddy_ (formerly Papi Chulo) is a queer, disabled Colombian/Chilean ‘slashie’ & open-format DJ. I first overheard Nati playing a bar set and fully dropped out of conversation (sorry friends) because their sexy Latin tracks kept pulling me in. I love what they’re building with
@paleta.latinx and how they inject culture, nostalgia and sangre into fun (and horny) sets.
From 9pm–2am on the rooftop. Come dance x
