Took my time and slowed down for this one.
My goal this year is to make 80% of my wardrobe but that means making things to last and that really fit me and my style.
I wanted a cropped bomber style jacket so I modified an old Vogue pattern and utilised stunning thrifted wool and DS Kate Sylvester satin. The pattern was challenging but I made sure I took my time and only did shorter stints of sewing, no burning the midnight oil and that meant less swearing and unpicking.
The pockets are pretty useless but otherwise Iām over the moon with this šš

So happy šš
Second take at the @daughterjudypatterns so I cut into the good fabric. Deadstock selvedge denim with a crispy chartreuse weft (underbelly) that I had been hoarding till I grew the cojones to tackle these pants.

Putting my spin to the flirt skirt š§µšŖ”
This variation has an adjustable high and low waist options, buttoned side openings that link into lace pockets. Extra gathered fabric in the main skirt to make her twirl and a petticoat layer for modesty cause the base fabric is sheer AF. And because Iām a sucker for punishment I opted to hand stitch polka dot bias binding into the hem just for fun.
Deadstock fabric from Kate Sylvester⦠and I think I have enough to make a corset but Iāve never tackled that before.
Loving this base pattern from @bygraciesteel
This is my third make and wonāt be my last.

Nothing like an adventure in your own country. Thanks for letting me share a slice of NZ with you babes. Itās been a blast sharing my home with you. Sparked so much joy.
Feat laughter and skating with @morgophone & @kid_ace
Honestly, who doesnāt love a good bandwagon.
Ten years ago I packed up my skates and moved to Melbourne, chasing the dream of playing for VRDL. Best choice ever. Over the year I worked my way up to the A team, and we took out Bronze at the champs (that was a huge deal at the time), my little baby CIB was starting to grow, and I was fully living my best lifeātravelling the world and āspreading the Stoke,ā as I loved to say.
It was a wild ride, stacked with unforgettable moments and extraordinary people who permanently carved out a place in my heart thanks to that exact era.
I donāt lace up much but I do still love a good dress up.
The poster once again undertakes the wildly ambitious task of assembling a monthly photo dump. A chaotic and unnecessary blend of the intentionally blurred and the unintentionally artistic, and because sheās a millennial, a sprinkle of selfies. She hopes to show her friends what sheās been up to, while simultaneously revealing absolutely nothing to strangers on the internet. Despite carefully curating the most acceptable fragments of the last 720 hours, she still fails to produce a suitably vague caption that explains any of it.
So⦠we did a thing.
A firefighting calendar thing. š„
Youāve probably seen me harping on about it in my stories over the past new weeks but weāre really proud of what weāve created so itās not gonna stop!
A bunch of us wahine from around Aotearoa teamed up to create the @nzwomensfirefightercalendar ā raising money for @breastcancercure NZ. Itās all about strong women, real bodies, and having a few laughs while we do something good.
Itās officially live now ā with worldwide shipping because apparently weāre too hot to keep local š

Itās been amazing working with @nicolevkoch and @zoefeau to bring this project to life. It would not have been possible without the creative vision of @flora_films and all the sponsors and supporters who backed the project.
Weāre set to reach and blow our fundraising goal of $100,000 out of the water! Like, comment, share. Buy one or ten!
International friends ā shipping is a bit extra (downside of living in paradise), but your support means the world! Buddy up to save as itās the same price to ship 1 calendars as it is 10!
