Congratulations to the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter's 2026 scholarship winners from Lansing High School. Chapter President Chevelle Lewis Wagstaff presented $6,000 total in scholarship awards to three Lansing High students.
Graduating senior Cienna Johnson received one of LAC's general scholarship awards, and Haven Kane and Mehad Jornaz each received both a chapter scholarship and the Bridgette L. Williams Memorial Scholarship.

We paid homage to our Charter Members for their vision, sacrifice, and commitment during an April 30 celebration on the day the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter was chartered 37 years earlier.
It was an honor to celebrate Sorors Renee Kerr, Cheryl Mills, and Michele McRoy, for their paving the way for us 37 years ago, on April 30, 1989, they chartered the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to have a place to belong, to serve the community, and to lead.
It was an honor to celebrate you, and we promise that we will uphold the ideals of our beloved Sorority and stay true to LAC's "small but mighty" mantra.
The 2025-2026 group of the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter's Delta GEMS/Delta Academy program concluded the school year on April 26 with a Sisterhood Meeting and Senior Recognition Tea. Program participants, along with their invited mothers and mother figures, celebrated their successes and looked forward to their futures. Here's to the Class of 2026!

Sorors Tamara Calixte, Robyn Gant, and Danielle Jamison dropped off 500 candy-filled eggs as well as boy's and girl's Easter baskets at the Richard Allen Cultural Center & Museum on April 14. The donations made on behalf of the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter are fie the center's April 18 Easter Egg Hunt.
Supporting chapter member Dawn Torrain and husband J.T. in the March 28 Run & Ride in honor of their daughter Jasmine Torrain and Coach Hart was at the center of the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter's focus on sisterhood, solidarity and wellness during the month of March.
The event was the 4th annual Jasmine Torrain 5k and the 1st annual Jasmine Torrain and Coach Hart Run and Ride. Both of these efforts support students by giving scholarships to help further their education.

Helping beautify Hawthorne Park in Leavenworth was the focus of our Sisterhood Month Day of Service today.

Soror Laura Coaxum, Social Action Committee Chair, proudly represented the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter on March 11 during Delta Day at the Kansas State Capitol.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority attendees met and took a photo with Kansas Governor Laura Kelly. Each Delta attendee was introduced in the legislative chamber as Senators David Haley and Oleta Faust Goudeau presented the proclamation for Delta Day at the Kansas State Capitol.
Soror Coaxum also met and took photos with Sen. Haley and Sen. Jeff Klemp during the March 11 event.
Sorors Dawn Torrain and Valerie Ramos delivered donations of feminine hygiene products to the nurse's office at Warren Middle School as part of the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter's Women Wellness Outreach during Women's History Month and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority's observance of Sisterhood Month.
