As an artist, I wanted to push myself in a slightly new direction - more into the land of disco and a four to the floor sound. Despite written during one of the longest winters in living memory (I remember wondering if February was ever going to end), ‘Love Dealer’ is quintessentially an upbeat record, full of joy, optimism and hope for the future. In fact, maybe it is precisely BECAUSE of that winter that the record turned out the way that it did... 💃🏼 🪩 To celebrate the announcement I’m putting out a double A-side single for your listening (and dancing) pleasure. ‘Walls Start Rockin’ - a full-on, joyful club banger that I’ve been itching to put together for so many years. Recording to tape makes everything sound better, especially percussion! This beautiful 16 channel Studer A80 was previously owned by @seasick_steve , then acquired by @middlefarmstudios where this was recorded a few years back. I’ve actually only recently started working on this track again - it hasn’t appeared on any album thus far. Watch this space..!

Had to stay loyal to the beautiful countryside that I call home. Although I do love visiting cities when I’m on tour. I’m lucky I get the best of both!

In 2007 I got asked by Mark Lamarr to record a live session at Maida Vale for God’s Jukebox (@bbcradio2 ). Of course I said yes. The only problem was that I didn’t have a band. Up until then, Lack of Afro was just DJ sets. A week later, I’d pulled a group together. One rehearsal and we were straight in. Must have gone alright — he asked me back three years later!
