The Los Angeles Parks Foundation is honored to be named a finalist in the 2026 Los Angeles Business Journal’s Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards.
We’re incredibly grateful for this recognition and so appreciative of our amazing partners at Nike and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. It’s a privilege to stand alongside organizations so deeply committed to strengthening our communities and expanding access to coaching education across Los Angeles.
We’re especially proud of the work behind this recognition through Coach LA and Women Coach LA, which expanded access to high-quality coaching education, certifications, and leadership development, particularly for women and individuals from historically underrepresented communities. Together, this partnership is helping address long-standing inequities in youth sports and recreation while creating stronger pathways for community members to lead.
We’re proud to be in such inspiring company and thankful for the continued support that makes this work possible.
Change in the nonprofit world is constant — but so is the passion to keep making an impact.

The Business of Sports Is Reshaping LA — Are You Ready for 2026?
We’re thrilled to welcome James T Butts Jr., Mayor of the City of Inglewood, to our 2026 Market Outlook & Trends discussion as we unpack how mega-events like the World Cup and Olympics will transform our region.
Mayor Butts' business expertise prevented bankruptcy in a city that Bond Rating agencies had ceased to rate for bond worthiness as late as 2010. Our bond rating is AA+ at present. The City’s reserve fund total is over 100% of its annual operating fund. The City, as of 3/28/25, has more liquidity in reserves than Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Beverley Hills, or Torrance. Under his leadership, the unemployment rate in Inglewood dropped from 17.5% when he took office in February of 2011 to 4.7% by 2022.
This is a conversation business leaders shouldn't afford to miss!
