As 2025 comes to an end, I want to share a few minutes of the work in progress that continues to be Agave Alchemy.
So much of my year, and my life lately, has been guided by the making of this project. Through it, I have met beautiful people I now have the privilege of calling friends, people who have expanded my world in ways I could not have imagined.
This 3 minute clip is made up of moments filmed with mezcal producing families in Nuevo León and Oaxaca. 📕 The Casa Faya in Gómez Palacio, Durango, is a historic, century-old building that has grown alongside the city, serving as a key cultural hub and museum. Located in the downtown area, this site now operates as a cultural center (Centro de las Artes), preserving local history and hosting cultural heritage events.
First two weeks of February. Wow.
My fifth Next Level residency, this time in México. 🇲🇽
This residency took me to La Comarca Lagunera, Gómez Palacio, Durango, and to Mexico City, each place carrying its own rhythm, history, and heart.
If you know me, you know my immigration story has been long and challenging. Crossing borders has never been simple. So being able to travel as a cultural diplomat is one of the greatest honors of my life.
But getting to do this work in my own country, that is a dream I do not even have words for.
I met hip hop legends from México and the U.S., gave a master class at the Universidad Politécnica de Gómez Palacio, documented powerful cultural exchange (so much to edit!), and built real friendships.
Hip hop as bridge. Culture as diplomacy. Home as stage.
