I am a doll in my house.
They come and go, until they’re done.
Innocent. Naive. Fragile.
Placed back exactly where I was.
I get used to it
but my body remembers.
So I build walls, layer by layer.
Not to hide, but to hold what remains.
A second skin.
A body you choose.
It ages. It becomes you.
Dress me.
Decorate me.
Undo me.
