Thank you to Sarah Owen MP, Chair of the Women & Equalities Select Committee, for expertly chairing, and to all MPs and participants who joined us.
We explored the lived experiences of Black women in the workplace, the intersection of race and gender, and what more employers, government, unions and society must do to deliver real equality.
Next steps: LAN will be writing to the TUC General Secretary and Ministers highlighting the issues raised and the call to action.

I had the privilege of speaking at the Labour African Network’s annual reception this week.
In times where our shared British values are called into question by the politics of hate and division, solidarity and the celebration of our own unique stories are as important as ever.

A legacy of pride and sacrifice but they are always forgotten .
Over 500,000 African soldiers from British colonies fought for the Allies in WWII, including in Europe. Many faced unequal pay and recognition. Their sacrifice must not be forgotten. #VEDay75 #WWII #hiddenhistory
