In coming together as cultural organisers, urbanists, researchers and more generally citizens, we sketched pathways and strategies, not only to think together, but also to act together for the city’s futures. ~ Ch[a]rita - times to tear and times to mend (2025) is a programme curated by Francesca Masoero @free_masoero & Rim Mejdi @rim_mejdi , with the complicity of Maha el Madi @maha_el_madi , Aziz Bouyabrine @azizbouyabrine , Fadma Fangach, Sarah Mounia Kachiri @3mti_susu , Chiara Bovio & Souhaib El Habachi. It is developed by the Dar Bellarj Foundation @darbellarj in partnership with LE 18 @le18marrakech & QANAT @qanat_collective . In April and May 2025, Laberinto coordinated the on-site installation of the National Pavilion of the Kingdom of Morocco at the Arsenale in Venice. Materiae Palimpsest Curated by @atelierbe & @belyas.co Materiae Palimpsest is a manifesto that sparks reflections on the future(s) of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship. This immersive installation invites visitors on a sensory journey through the diverse landscapes of Morocco. It unfolds through 72 square columns (50x50cm base), with varying heights echoing the country’s topography. Each column is crafted from a different material, showcasing the rich spectrum of local resources, techniques, and construction cultures. By fragmenting processes, Materiae Palimpsest encourages us to understand and reimagine them — guiding us towards better futures. Materiae Palimpsest will be open to public from May 10th to November 23rd, 2025 in Arsenale de Venezia. ▪️Official catalog of the National Pavilion of the Kingdom of Morocco at the 19th Biennale of Architecture in Venice. The book provides insights into the Pavilion’s central theme: construction techniques using local materials. The book delves deeper, broadens, and extends this reflection through a multiscalar approach, exploring climate and ecological challenges, the transmission of knowledge, circular economy principles, and the innovative potential of Moroccan architecture. Structured as a trilogy between material, technique, and humanity, the book is divided into two complementary sections, readable from either direction. The first, artistic and immersive, takes the form of a journal where dialogues, sketches, photographs, and archives reveal the behind-the-scenes process of designing the Pavilion, blending experimentation and production. The second, intellectual and academic, brings together articles and essays by researchers, architects, and geologists, situating local construction techniques within a sustainable reflection on their future. #unbuilding #maidelaphoto #institutfrancaismarrakech #photographie #urbanphotography #architecture #culture #artexhibition #morocco #marrakechart
