Elz took his spot on the Mt. Rushmore of New England dnb some time ago and doesn't show any sign of slowing down. Thanks to everyone who came out last weekend and supported Venceremos! We were able to collect and donate $373 to @maydaybrigade that will go to vital aid for folks in Cuba. ....so uhhh guess this is what 31 looks like was fun af doing a 3 hr set for the first time out @lacageniteclub . Those who were around for my streaming era have seen me in endurance mode (remember the 22 hr set) and it's so cool to dig deeper into my catalog than I get to in a short form set out. Aries season is upon us and it's my bday weeeeek Here's the plans 1) On my actual bday Wednesday 4/8 I'll be taking over @lacageniteclub for 3 hours from 9pm-midnight playing uhhh...shit and things and shit. Long sets are always fun since you can push them in a bunch of different directions sooo expect some twists and turns. 2) On Friday 4/10 it's time for some less self centered vibes with a fundraver for Cuba @highdivemke . As some of y'all know I started out doing events with fundraisers on Twitch and I always welcome the chance to use music as political action (and to y'all who say that politics doesn't need to be involved in dance music, you're wrong). I've partnered up with some awesome local crews and it isn't to be missed. We'll be raising funds for @maydaybrigade which has a trip coming later this April to deliver important power and medical supplies that are desperately needed following the invasion of Venezuela and tightening of the blockade. Suggested donation is $5-10 sliding scale and can be made either at door or in the qr code in the third slide. Soooo uhhh yeah come see your local chaos queen doing Aries shit :p

On Friday, April 10th @highdivemke we’ve got a fundraver on the menu. As many of you know, Cuba has been struggling with its economy and meeting its energy needs following the Trump administration's tightening of the pre-existing trade embargo and illegal invasion of Venezuela, which cut off its oil supply. As a result, some of your favorite crews have decided to collaborate to do something about that. We’ll be fundraising for the May Day Brigade (@maydaybrigade ) – an organization that collects necessary medical and power supplies and transports them directly to Cuba, where they’ll be put to use. They’ve already begun to consolidate supplies in domestic storage units and will be taking them to Cuba via chartered plane on 4/26, and funds collected will go towards supplies and flights. Music-wise, we’ll run the gamut of sounds accessible in Milwaukee’s underground scene. @djfanggg from @rhythmnraveglobal brings her signature multi-genre club sound that highlights Black contribution to electronic dance music. @ll.ego_ from @perpetual.motion_ supplies groove-forward 4 on the floor sounds. In addition, @cultivate.house brings their combination of tech/house/minimal in the form of a b3b set between @4x4saint , @bpmslide , and @liketonymusic . Bass music fan? No problem. @musicbycarsen of @headlinersonlymke is bringing the 140 bpm bass pressure, while event organizer Alex Viper (@l3ftfield ) of Shadow Frequency (@shdwfrq ) brings their high-energy breakbeat-centered sound on their birthday weekend. We’ll be running from 9pm-2am, and while not strictly required for entry, we’d suggest a $5-10 (or more if you’re feeling generous!) donation that can be made either through cash/QR code at the event or in advance directly to the May Day Brigade at the QR code in the second slide. For our 27th @tackycardia_nyc @wonderville we’re coming in hot with another fresh lineup of 150+ bpm madness. Joining us for the first time is local bass don BARU (@baru.wav ), who has shared lineups with legends like Caspa, Feed Me, Enigma Dubz, and Hamdi. In addition, @elzwerth brings his turntablism-infused junglist flavor to NYC from New England, where he’s performed for longstanding institutions such as Tight Crew and Elements. Also, @ani_klang contributes her signature percussion forward kickmusik style following the release of her album GEi-SHA with TONI. Tacky alum, @phoebeweyland makes her return to the decks as well, and we’re rounded out by residents Cryostatik (@cryostatik.mvb ) and @djgirlcrush . As usual, entry is free, but supporting us via donations helps us reinvest into throwing more events and can be made via Venmo or cash at the event.

Dubstep was the first genre I got into when I started going out because it’s far from a monolithic sound, and hearing it on a proper system is an incredibly visceral experience that doesn’t always translate to home audio setups. Somewhere along the way, during my becoming a speed demon, my DJing career disconnected a bit from some of the sorts of music I enjoy most, which is a lot of why I started Shadow Frequency – to slow down the BPMs on occasion and explore the full range of music that I listen to. Tonight’s game – show how diverse of a genre dubstep is. There won’t be any riddim or Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. There will be everything from grime beats, to tearout from artists like Coki, to deep soundsystem rumblers from artists like Loefah, to melodic soundscapes from artists like Mala and Eva808. Who knows, I might even splash in some of the dark garage that predated/grew alongside dubstep or a splash of dub techno. We’ll probably have some extra sound for ya to make sure it’s a proper night.
