Plastik Afterlife This look is made of 100% recycled plastic. It consists of around six filled bags containing plastic waste. It has been created by melting multiple thin layers of plastic at a high temperature by using a heat press. Then deformed into the desired shape using a heat gun. The inspiration for my @junkkouture project comes from our next generation, born in our plastic waste. The design represents a more sustainable approach to dealing with plastic waste, aiming to create a cleaner planet not only for our future, but also for the present. The silhouette has been inspired by a pose from ‘Willi Ninja’, with a quote of ‘Octavia St. Laurent’ on the back of the hoodie saying “This World Is For Me Too Honey”. The hoodie is designed as a tribute to the legendary houses of New York. Making this hoodie was such a process, i’ve made lots of toiles for the hood and sleeves. After weeks of sewing, it turned out exactly how i wanted it to be. We did this shoot with a gorgeous model and talented photographer, thank you for bringing my vision to life.
