Such a joy to spend the last week at the Oscar qualifying @americanblackfilmfestival for the world premiere of our film @fufuandsoupmovie
This film was special to me from the first audition because look at the title and also because it focuses on 4 Liberian women and is created by Liberian writer/director @marjanmonakoffa 🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷 So grateful to her and @astrid_esteri for bringing me on to bring Maima to life.
It was so special to reunite in Miami Beach and watch it together for the first time at this iconic festival where I was inspired, moved, and entertained all week long. Finally, forever grateful for the support of @amiraweeks whose response when I got the news was basically “so what day should I land in Miami” 🥹

Spent my birthday living my dream—exploring the streets of a city I had never seen before, eating delicious food, toasting to LIFE, toasting to LOVE, laughing, crying (joyfully), and dancing the night away… all with these pure gems of humans.
