This is a trailer for a very, very short film I made with
@pixiebvg and
@forevermkay . I have very brief experience with film, but I’ve always felt called to create something meaningful to my soul. I went into this nervous and unsure, but came out with something I’m proud of.
Inspired by the Yoruba goddesses Oya and Yemaya, this film explores the balance between destruction and creation, light and dark, and the duality within the divine femininity, especially in Black women. It reflects the inner pull between these forces and my journey of understanding them within myself. I’ve been sitting on this concept since moving to New York almost two years ago, so it feels full circle. I’m still figuring things out. The budget was low, the vibes were high and low, and at one point I accidentally deleted the whole project and had to start over😐😭
✨Just like life, I’m starting from scratch, but for my first personal film project, I’m proud and excited to share something that came from my heart. The biggest thank you to Bug and Makayla for being the best cast and crew on a very long shoot day. We shot this on Easter, so I’d also like to thank God, my divine co-creator. I’m grateful for whatever you have in store for me—and thanks mom for birthing me :)
You can find this on YouTube May 1st at 7:00 pm, if you watch, thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting, and if you don’t, well that’s also okay haha
Anyways…be blessed y’all❤️
