It’s been over 7 years since I’ve had to edit a show reel, so condensing some of my favorite projects I’ve worked on over those years into a 2 minute edit was extremely difficult, but also a lot of fun. This edit is the culmination of learning & growing in this industry over the past decade from some very talented and supportive people. I’ve been on countless sets and taken so much from all of my experiences, so thank you to everyone who’s helped me become the cinematographer I am today; I appreciate y’all. While the perfectionist in me struggled with editing my reel, this 2 minute edit was nothing compared to the extensive task of redoing + updating my website to showcase my work as a cinematographer, photographer, and colorist via all the projects I’ve worked on (website creation is my nightmare fuel). The website has a little more work that needs to be done, but it’s in a good spot for now (now comes the fun task of applying to & interviewing for jobs). I rarely post on social media anymore, so there are probably a lot of friends, family, clients, etc. who I forgot to tell that I moved to San Francisco at the end of August (oops!), but we moved from Des Moines to San Francisco at the end of August (now you know) and ya boy's back on the job hunt. We learned a lot on this trip, but I think the main thing we took away is how excited we are for the next trip. While 7 days is never enough time to see a major city, let alone two in Europe, I’m thankful we got to do this trip and I wouldn’t trade anything for the world (alright, maybe the food poisoning part). Big s/o to @haleywandro for being my person and sharing my love of travel. I love and appreciate you more than I could ever put into words and can’t wait for the future with you. It’s been just over 1 year since I found Cookie hidden in my car’s engine block, but it seems like she’s been with me for a lot longer. She’s the most talkative/adventurous/funny/kind/curious kitty I’ve ever known and I hope she never changes. Thank you for choosing me, Cooks.
