Super excited to share my new EP “Dialogic” out on MǑNADA. Thanks to MǑNADA for a first class collaboration on this release, and to Dad of the Year and Fernn for their stellar remixes and patience throughout the process. I’m very grateful. A special thank you to Haunted Water for the beautiful mastering on this EP, and to Backward Clock Sound for the amazing mastering on the DOTY remix. This EP is a very meaningful one for me. “Dialogic” and “Shake” were the last tracks that were started when Oondza was still operating as a duo. The ideas came together after coming back from a festival, feeling inspired by the kind of human connection we experience when we come together through music. “Dialogic” is about communication and shared understanding. A kind of exchange where meaning is created together rather than coming from a single voice. It’s something I felt strongly at the time, and still do, especially given how much that spirit feels missing today. “Shake” represents a more primal feeling. When we unite on the dancefloor, let go of everything else, and experience music fully in the present moment. You can hear the voice of my dear friend Niko on “Shake,” a co-founding member of Oondza. His love for downtempo music has had a strong influence on me. We’ll continue collaborating through our respective solo projects, so keep an eye out for Oondza & Niköush in the near future.
