This is a big one! My first comedy special Kyle Brownrigg: Introducing Lyle is officially out 🤩!! Total dream come true! Too many people to thank. I won’t bore you with an Oscar acceptance speech of names but biggest thank you’s to @zoerabnett , @emailantonleo@brucehillsjfl and everyone at @justforlaughs and @cravecanada ! We put this project together during the pandemic when there were no warmup shows happening and limited audience numbers and I couldn’t be more grateful to the crowd that showed up and brought the greatest energy.

On a cheesy note: This moment means a lot to me. When I was growing up, there were no gay male standup comedy specials to watch. The only attention we got in comedy was being the butt of the joke; something disgusting that should be ridiculed and laughed at. That deeply affects your development as a child. I missed the ‘being gay is cool’ years. It made starting out in comedy difficult because I was the only gay in Ottawa. I think I often get criticized for my level of self-confidence but bitch I had to believe in myself because no one else did. This is why representation is so important. If nothing else, maybe some young gay boy will watch this special and feel empowered and say ‘hey! If this tired queen can do it! So can I!’
